2019 2nd National Youth Games

Untitled design(10).png

The Foundation has sponsored a funding of HK$300,000 to the Hong Kong Equestrian Team to participate in the 2nd National Youth Games (NYG). Like the Youth Olympic Games, the NYG weighs education as important as competition. The purpose of the Games was to improve the performance of China's best young athletes and promote widespread involvement in sport. Teams are organized on a city or district basis – in line with the designation of Chinese cities, athletes may come from the metropolitan area or its surrounding area. The first National Youth Games opened in South China’s Fuzhou city, Fujian province in 2015 and did not include equestrian events. For the first time, the 2nd National Youth Games include 4 disciplines of Equestrian Events, namely Dressage, Jumping, Eventing and Racing. The equestrian events of the 2nd NYG were held from 1 to 9 August, 2019 in Youyu Country, Shuozhou City, Shanxi, China.

With the generous support and sponsor of competition horses by R&D Riding Club, the HKEF was able to send Senior and Junior Dressage and Show Jumping Teams to compete at the Games. 16 riders will be divided in Group A (senior, aged 16-19) and Group B (junior, aged 12-15) to participate in the Dressage and Show Jumping Competitions.
