2023 1st National Student (Youth) Games 2023

Equestrian Team Hong Kong, China achieved remarkable success in the Equestrian competition of the first Student (Youth) Games of the People’s Republic of China, held in Guangxi. Representing Hong Kong, a group of 15 skilled young athletes, ranging from 13 to 22 years old, participated in team competitions, including Dressage, Jumping, and Eventing.

The Equestrian Foundation provided financial support for the team, playing a significant role in their preparation for the games. Additionally, the team received generous support and sponsorship of competition horses from the R&D Riding Club. This collaboration ensured that the team had access to exceptional equine partners, enhancing their performances in the competition.

Under the guidance of their dedicated team official, comprising Chef d'equipe & Jumping Coach Raena Leung, Eventing Coach Christian Allderidge, Dressage Coach Cara Hayward, and Equine Veterinarian Krish Someshwar, the young riders showcased their talent and dedication. Their outstanding performances in the Team Show Jumping competition (Ammy Xiao & Futricia Van Beek, Joyce Shen & Alessi Z、Arthur An & Genial、Flora Yu & Geronimo) resulted in a gold medal win in Group B, with a flawless performance with two rounds of zero penalties.

The success of Equestrian Team Hong Kong, China in the first Student (Youth) Games of the People’s Republic of China highlights the talent and potential of our young equestrians. Their achievements have not only brought pride to Hong Kong but also serve as an inspiration for future generations of riders.
