

2024 EFHKC Youth Equestrian
Exchange Programme





The Equestrian Foundation, with support from the LCSD (Leisure and Cultural Services Department), provided support for the recent EFHKC Youth Equestrian Exchange Programme at R&D Riding Club in Huizhou, Guangdong, China. The programme, which took place from 25 to 28 March 2024, aimed to enhance the riding skills and horsemanship of young athletes through an immersive experience in mainland China.
Coach Raena Leung led the programme, with Sarah Corner as part of the support team. The Exchange Programme catered to young riders between the ages of 12and 16, focusing on developing their skills in Dressage at the Preliminary level and Jumping at heights ranging from 60 to 80cm. The participants had the privilegeof utilizing the well-equipped facilities at R&D Riding Club, which included well-trained equestrian horses

During the four-day programme, the young riders were fully engaged in a comprehensive schedule of activities. They received two lessons per day, enabling themto refine their theoretical knowledge and practical riding abilities. Additionally, they actively participated in yard work, gaining valuable hands-on experience instable management and horse care, which further deepened their understanding of equestrianism.
